1. Who we are
This website is operated by EMIT Yachts (EMIT Boats S.A.E.), a yacht builder based in Hurghada, Egypt (“we”, “us”, “our”). EMIT Yachts is the sole data controller for all personal data collected through this website. EMIT Yachts alone decides what data is collected, why it is collected, how it is used, and how long it is kept — and EMIT Yachts alone bears full responsibility and liability for that processing, including any failure to comply with applicable data protection law.
The website was built for EMIT Yachts by Ground Zero LLC, acting purely as a technical service provider under contract. Ground Zero LLC has no role as a data controller: it does not own, sell, rent, or decide the purposes or means of processing of any personal data collected through this website, and it is not responsible for EMIT Yachts's data processing practices or compliance. All decisions about personal data — and all resulting responsibility — rest with EMIT Yachts alone.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to everyone who uses this website, including visitors in the European Union / European Economic Area (covered by the GDPR), in Egypt (covered by Law No. 151 of 2020 on the Protection of Personal Data), and in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (including Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law, the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection, and Qatar's Law No. 13 of 2016). Where those laws impose obligations on us, we comply with the stricter applicable standard.
3. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and country when you contact us or submit a request form.
- Model and specification preferences you share with our sales team.
- Any messages or attachments you send us.
We also collect limited technical data automatically — such as browser type, device, and pages visited — to keep the site working, secure, and to understand general usage. This website does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
Sensitive data. We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health, religious, or biometric data). If you volunteer such information in a message, we process it only as necessary to respond to your enquiry and delete it as soon as it is no longer needed.
4. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide quotations.
- To arrange facility visits, sea trials, and events you request.
- To manage warranty, support, and ownership services (EMIT Care).
- To improve our website and services.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use automated decision-making (including profiling) that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Legal basis
We process your data on the following lawful bases, each in line with applicable law (GDPR Article 6, Egypt Law No. 151 of 2020, and the GCC data protection laws):
- Your consent — where you have given it freely, specifically, and informed, and which you may withdraw at any time;
- Performance of a contract — where processing is necessary to respond to or fulfil a request, quotation, or agreement with you;
- Legitimate interests — operating and improving our business and securing the website, balanced against your rights.
6. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Enquiry data is retained for the duration of the relationship and a reasonable period afterwards for service continuity. Where you withdraw consent or request deletion, we delete or anonymise your data without undue delay, subject to legal or contractual retention requirements.
7. Sharing and international transfers
We share your data only with service providers who help us operate (hosting, communications, finance partners) under contracts that require them to protect it, and with authorities where the law requires it. Our service providers process data only on our documented instructions and are bound by confidentiality.
Where personal data is transferred across borders — including from the EU/EEA to Egypt, or to or from GCC countries — we ensure the transfer has an appropriate legal basis and safeguard, such as standard contractual clauses, an adequacy decision or equivalent mechanism recognised under the applicable law (GDPR Articles 44–49; Egypt Law No. 151 of 2020 on cross-border transfer; and the relevant GCC transfer rules).
8. Security and breach notification
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority (including Egypt's Data Protection Centre, and EU supervisory authorities where required) and affected individuals, as required by law and without undue delay.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, Egypt Law No. 151 of 2020, and the GCC data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erase your data, where the legal conditions apply;
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances;
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, where applicable;
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
We respond to requests under these rights within the time limits required by applicable law (up to one month under the GDPR; within the corresponding periods under Egyptian and GCC law). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@emityachts.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, contact us first at info@emityachts.com and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence or where the alleged issue occurred — for example, Egypt's Data Protection Centre, a supervisory authority in the EU/EEA, Saudi Arabia's data protection authority (SDAIA), the UAE's data protection authority, or Qatar's competent authority.
11. Cookies
This website uses only essential cookies. It does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details and how to manage your choices.
